From the failed rifle execution in the morning to hanging in the gallows in the afternoon, it didn't die. Finally, he was put in the guillotine, sadly no head fell into the basket the blade broke into two. The jury now have aproved unconvtentioinal and inhumane methods of seeing the death scentence to the end, evening combining two or more methods such as poisoning before suffocating with a plastic bag, nothing yeilded any result. As the last straw he chained with weights and dropped in the middle of the ocean.
What he did to attain such a sentence was to simply try and help others' open their shut rigid eyes to another perspective , his vantage point of the circus. Of course everone's eyes will be on the acrobats swinging on the trapeze while the poor elephant is being lashed with a whip for "not obeying" the clown's command, just a few inches away. You must know that the circus is happening while the whole world is being burnt by other clowns, sure the tent will be on fire and people will die, it is fine as the clowns and cronies will sail away in a hot air baloon to god knows where to drain and burn the world while the crew set up the tent.
I don't know if you know this fun fact : The colosseum was built not because the King was feeling quite generous and benevolent one fine morning, it was built to keep the people busy and dazed, like how we stick up a phone in the face of a kid to feed them. Sadly we are not given anything useful, we are now preoccupied with pointless stuff like 80s trend and always on the lookout for the next big thing while the ground you are standing on, in the house you are in, is on fire.
We are all filled with tons of pain. Some can get it out of their system with their own ways, not everyone is so fortunate. Pain of existence, pain of all the failures and dissapointments, pain of feeling / being helpless, the list can go on and on. What should we do with this ? How do we channel it ?? How to drain away all pain that was soaked up ???
The cliche " the present is the biggest present" kind of things maybe one answer, I don't know, I'm just a human behind a keyboard.
The depiction of pain is aptly conveyed
